Hagerbach Test Tunnel

Ores such as hematite, magnetite and hausmannite were once mined from the 90 kilometre-long labyrinth of tunnels. The last miners left the mine in 1966, causing the roar of the compressors and the rumble of the hammer drills to stop.

Since 1983, visitors have had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the exciting world of underground mining: Visitors can choose from a wide range of public and individual guided tours: through tunnels, galleries, transport systems and inclined lifts, past deep silos, sinks and hidden corners.

The restaurant Bergwerk is unique in its design and is open for individual guests, as well as for banquets, family celebrations or business occasions. The stage on rails, which is available for concerts, lectures or performances, allows adjustment of the venue’s size. For entertainment there is also an auditorium with a film screening and the museum at the back of the restaurant cavern.
